Profile
Alexandra is a qualified European patent attorney working in the Guildford office, with experience in prosecuting UK and European patent applications for a range of clients, including large multinationals and SMEs. Alexandra studied Physics at the University of Birmingham before completing a PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Surrey with a thesis titled ‘The Structure of Dwarf Galaxies in Extreme Environments’. Her research focused on using photometric and spectroscopic observations of Local Group dwarf galaxies to determine their stellar structure and dark matter content. Through her doctoral research, Alexandra has experience in working with advanced optical systems, as well as in developing and utilising software to manage and analyse data.
Alexandra specialises in physics and electronics, and has prosecuted patent applications in subject areas including photonics and laser systems; aerodynamic sensors; autonomous vehicles; and machine learning, among others.
Education
Alexandra graduated with an MSci Physics from the University of Birmingham in 2016, and obtained a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Surrey in 2019.
