Venner Shipley recognised in The Legal 500 United Kingdom 2024 as a Top Tier Firm

We are delighted to have been recognised as a Top Tier Firm in The Legal 500 United Kingdom 2024 edition and recommended in three more practice areas.

Once again we achieved Tier 1 status for PATMA: Patent Attorneys in The Legal 500 UK 2024 and Tier 2 for PATMA: Trade Mark Attorneys and have been ranked in Intellectual Property: Trade Marks, Copyright and Design as well as Intellectual Property: Patents (Contentious and Non-Contentious).

We are particularly pleased that Allie Elend received individual recognition as PATMA: Patent Attorneys Leading Individual. Allie is celebrated as a “very bright, intelligent lawyer with excellent scientific knowledge”.

13 of our team are mentioned by name in the Legal 500 United Kingdom commentary for their standout contribution to their respective practices and another 12 have been mentioned by name by our referees. This is more than last year.

Praised for having “a diverse team with depth and breadth of knowledge”, clients applauded us as a firm for having “notable strength’’ and “academically very talented team’’. Other clients have further commented on our communication as incredibly “clear and concise’’ and “the team is well-equipped to help make the right strategic decisions’’. We have also been commended on our “great experience in patent prosecution and EPO opposition and appeal proceedings’’.

Our trade mark team is “praised as a ‘go-to firm for any UK trade mark matters’” and [showing] “demonstrable experience in managing global portfolios and prosecution mandates for a wide range of clients, including FTSE100 companies, global corporations, in addition to SMEs, and start-ups’’.

The guide also commends us for “handling patent portfolio and licensing issues’’ as well as being “well-versed in IP disputes’’. We also possess “notable expertise in handling registered designs and direct advocacy experience in the British Overseas territories, the USA and Canada’’.
