Keerath is a Trainee Patent Attorney in our Electronics, Software and Communications team having joined Venner Shipley in September 2026. His main interests lie in physics, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
During his MPhys degree, his research focused on the application of machine learning techniques to problems in particle physics. His first projects included using a compression-based machine learning tool to compare the reconstructive performance of different model architectures, including autoencoders and transformers.
He then applied machine learning techniques to event data from the ATLAS experiment at CERN in a second project, using the data to investigate the Higgs boson and explore the effects of data compression.
Before joining Venner Shipley, Keerath worked at Agilia Infrastructure Partners, where he supported work relating to the financing and economic regulation of Sizewell C. This gave him experience of working with complex technical and commercial information in a major infrastructure environment.
He also completed the European Patent Pipeline Programme with Withers & Rogers, gaining early experience of patent law before joining Venner Shipley in September 2026.
Education
Keerath graduated from the University of Manchester in 2025 with a First Class MPhys (Hons) in Physics.
His degree included research projects in machine learning and particle physics, with a particular focus on autoencoders, transformers, data compression and analysis of ATLAS experiment data from CERN.
