Jay Patel

Profile

Jay is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney with broad IP experience. On non-contentious matters, he helps clients prosecute trade mark applications across all major jurisdictions as well as helping them with the exploitation of their IP through licences, assignments, and commercial agreements. On the contentious side, he has experience with proceedings at the UKIPO, EUIPO, IPEC, and the High Court.

Given Jay’s previous roles in engineering, he began his IP career working on patents.  As an engineer, he gained industry experience in a range of green technologies and was also involved in running a low carbon heating systems off-shoot company.  With this background, he is able to quickly pick up on his client’s needs and is well-versed dealing with those clients who are technically focused
