Venner Shipley makes partner promotion

European Intellectual Property Attorneys Venner Shipley appoint new Partner in Trade Mark Team.

We are pleased to announce that Yoann Rousseau, one of our Trade Mark Directors who has been with Venner Shipley since 2012, has been promoted to Partner.

Yoann specializes in all aspects of trade mark law and its implementation. His areas of focus include the strategic management and organisation of global intellectual property portfolios, conducting thorough clearance searches for new marks, facilitating their registration, and actively advocating for the enforcement of intellectual property rights. With a wealth of experience in contentious trade mark proceedings, Yoann excels in handling cases involving oppositions and cancellation actions before the UK and EU Intellectual Property Offices, including representing clients in trade mark hearings before the UK Intellectual Property Office. Additionally, Yoann provides valuable guidance on matters related to domain name disputes (before ICANN and Nominet) and has specialised proficiency in the drafting and negotiation of trademark licenses and assignments.

Clare Turnbull, Head of our Trade Mark team, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Yoann, and we have witnessed first-hand the immense value his approach brings to our clients. Yoann’s promotion to partnership is a clear demonstration to the growing demand for trade mark experts, and we are excited to continue to successfully support and assist our clients in fulfilling their needs and objectives”.

Pawel Piotrowicz, Managing Partner, added: “We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Yoann as he joins our partnership, aligning with our drive to deliver complete full services in Intellectual Property”.

In addition to Yoann’s promotion to the partnership, Venner Shipley has also promoted Nick Barrow, Henry Aldridge and James Plunkett to Senior Associate.
