Patenting personalised medicines

Tanya Heare has written an article for the latest issue of Pharmacology Matters, an official publication of the British Pharmacological Society.

The article provides an insightful commentary on the patent laws governing personalised medicines and the challenges facing innovators in the biopharmaceutical and medical devices industry in this regard.  The issue of patentability is discussed in relation to the novelty of personalised medicines in the context of recent legal cases, along with current perspectives from the European Patent Office in particular.
