Latest News – Unitary Patent

The Select Committee of the Administrative Council of the EPO has today endorsed the True Top 4 proposal on renewal fees applicable to the unitary patent. As set out in our earlier article “Unitary Patent Update”, this would appear to be a good result for those applicants who normally validate in more than four states, and may be considered a reasonable trade-off for those applicants who would normally validate in UK, France and Germany only, providing coverage of at least 25 European countries for a relatively small additional cost.
