Important post Brexit trade mark and design dates for your diary

Following on from April’s update on UK and EU trade mark registrations post Brexit, we wanted to provide you with a couple of important dates for your diary. If you missed our latest update, you can view it here.
Important dates for your diary
30 June 2021
- Last renewal date for late renewal of UK cloned rights without surcharge (within 6 months of expiry).
There is a grace period for newly created UK cloned rights covering rights with an expiry date of 1 January – 30 June 2021 allowing late renewal up to six months after expiry without surcharge.
(note: check cloned cases created from EU designations of International Registration where the EU was a subsequent designation, as the renewal date runs from the subsequent designation date.)
30 September 2021
- Deadline for filing comparable UK applications based on pending EU Applications or designations filed by 31 December 2020 claiming priority from the EU right.
- Deadline for filing of bulk recordal of changes in representation of UK cloned rights.
