CIPA Series: Opt-outs at the UPC

Partner, Peter Thorniley is presenting as part of CIPA‘s UPC Series, ‘Opt-outs at the UPC’.

The webinar, held on Tuesday 26 April 2022 will focus on the recent news that The Unified Patent Court (UPC) will offer a centralised court system not just for the upcoming Unitary Patents but also for “classical” European patents.  This means a significant change to the regime under which a vast number of existing rights currently operate. One of the key decisions patent proprietors will have to make in the coming months is whether to opt out their existing patents (and applications) from the jurisdiction of the UPC.
