The EPO’s Enlarged Board of Appeal recently handed down its decision in the referral case G1/19 concerning the patentability of computer implemented simulations. Pawel, who has been involved with the case from the very beginning will be joined by Sam Jones (Gill Jennings & Every LLP) to speak about the case. Pawel was the European patent attorney for the appellant in the case, and has unparalleled insights on the decision. Sam is a partner at GJE specialising in computer implemented inventions and will provide some perspectives on the practical consequences for patent practitioners involved with software inventions at the EPO.
